I started playing piano when I was 7. I played several recitals all my years in elementary school.
Most of middle and high school I played trumpet. I was selected 5x for the Northern California Honor Band, and served as the trumpet section leader across the 30+ concert bands, jazz ensembles, and orchestras I played in.
In high school, I co-founded & played in a 20-musician jazz big band: Gregory's Big Band. I became its director when I was 16. During COVID, I combined my love for editing with music by producing 5 virtual jazz concerts for a local senior center. Post-COVID, I coordinated live performances at school assemblies and events.
My favorite songs to this day include songs I've played. Jazz favorites include Sing, Sing, Sing (Goodman), Get in Line (Goodwin), and Caravan (Ellington).
